It's your breath. As I was sitting in my bed having an anxiety attack over recent events that have basically shook up my world, I sat alone, crying, feeling hopeless and feeding into lies Satan was putting in my mind. "You're worthless," he told me, "Nobody loves you anyways. You're scum, you're a sinner. You're unclean. You're going to feel like this the rest of your life because this is all your life is."
I can't be the only one who Satan has tried those tactics on before. As I shook and gasped for breath, I scrolled onto Twitter because I was dumb enough not to run to Jesus to vent, but to a worldly following. Luckily, Jesus met me there anyways. I follow multiple Christian bloggers and the verse 1 Peter 5:7 came across my dim and cracked phone screen.
"Cast all your anxieties on Him because He cares for you." - 1 Peter 5:7
If I had a nickel for every time I heard this verse, I'd be able to afford my tuition, but then again, if I had a penny for every time I fell into spiritual forgetfulness and missed the meat of this important scripture, I could pay of The US's debt. Cast you anxieties upon Him. Not gentle hand them over, FREAKING THROW THEM TO HIM, project them to Him, get rid of it as fast as you can because it serves us no good because all we do is ponder on it and fall into a trap. He cares for you. If He didn't care for you, He wouldn't have allowed people who loathed Him to drive nails into His body so you could be freed from that anxiety that's down casting you. The pain you feel does not measure to the pain He felt in order for you to understand and to feel His LOVE.
When you feel like you can't breathe and the whole world is collapsing, remember, it's His breath in your lungs. He breathes life into you. Take a moment and breathe, let the Father fill you with His peace, His love, and give up those burdens and CAST THEM AWAY.
I'm busy working on my blog posts. Watch this space!
